Happy Anniversary "Web Site" (or Is That "Website")? It's the 20th anniversary of the World Wide Web, so it's a good time to address whether the pages we visit are described with one word or two. The Yahoo! Style Guide, AP Stylebook, and Garner's Modern American Usage all recommend "website"—lowercase, one word. When "Web" stands alone, however, it is capitalized (e.g., "Web protocol," "Web address"). |
